NEST (National Employment Savings Trust) is a UK workplace pension scheme established by the government in 2012 to support auto-enrolment. It is a defined contribution scheme open to all employers regardless of size, with a public service obligation to accept any employer. NEST manages over £40 billion in assets for more than 12 million members, making it one of the largest pension schemes in the UK. Contribution charges include a 1.8% charge on each contribution plus an annual management fee of 0.3%. NEST is overseen by an independent trustee body and regulated by The Pensions Regulator. It does not operate a customer referral programme, as enrolment is employer-driven through auto-enrolment legislation.
